Summary

LANDuel is a peer-to-peer skill-based betting platform for esports. Peer-to-peer betting, also known as a betting exchange, involves bettors creating their own odds as opposed to placing wagers based on a bookmaker’s odds.

To understand a betting exchange, think of placing a wager with a friend. If you’re playing against your friend in Madden ’22 as the Kansas City Chiefs, and he or she is the New York Jets, you might feel confident enough to bet your friend $100 that you will win. To make the wager official, your friend will need to agree to wager $100 on the opposite side of the bet. Without your friend’s agreement, there is no bet.

With LANDuel, gamers can bet on their own ability to beat other gamers in a betting exchange environment. The esports betting platform also provides event management tools like brackets for larger events. Gamers can win real cash and prizes by challenging other players with similar skill sets or participating in tournaments.

LANDuel were in a law suit which another betting company called FanDuel claimed that LANDuel is too close to their name. LANDuel eventually dropped their name and rebranded as BetGround.

ROLES

My team and I worked on all aspects of the brand and the events from digital graphics, marketing materials, prints and UX/UI.

Landuel event

LANDuel, EEG Games, and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City hosted a first-of-its-kind Madden ’22 tournament featuring New Jersey DGE-sanctioned peer-to-peer wagering. Yes, you heard that right, on top of participating in the tournament prize pool players will be allowed to wager on the outcome of matches in a head-to-head fashion via the LANDuel software. The more matches you win…the more money you make.

We were in charge of creating marketing materials for the event, from videos, adverts, and flyers to printed graphics for the backdrops and booths.
